Well, it's nearing the end of summer now and school will soon be in full swing again. I will be spending this last month of summer working on lesson plans for school. I finally have all my books ordered and most of them are in, I'm still waiting on a few to arrive but I have enough to begin making lesson plans (and I'm sure it will take every bit of that time to get it done).
We have enjoyed our summer break, doing a lot of camping with our family. We went to Huntsville State Park for the 4th of July weekend. We had lots of fun visiting with our family but the park was not what we expected. It was a rather large park and we had to drive if we wanted to do anything; swim, hike, fish, etc. , so we pretty much stayed in camp most of the time. The campsites that we were in were pretty secluded so really all we saw of the park was a bunch of trees and a few squirrels. We all agreed that we probably would not be going back to that park.
We spent another weekend in July camping at Meridian State Park. It was a much smaller park and the campgrounds were in close range of each other. We really enjoyed this park much better than the Huntsville. The lake was really nice and everyone enjoyed swimming there. We brought the old home movies and enjoyed watching them; it brought back lots of memories.
One more camping trip has been planned before school begins, but I won't be going on this trip, just the girls. It's a week long trip and Jimmy can't take off that many days yet. It's the best trip of the year; Lost Maples State Park. It is a gorgeous park and the hiking trails are fantastic. Oh well, I know that the girls will thoroughly enjoy the trip and maybe we can join them next year. But for now I will concentrate on getting my lesson plans written for the school year (or at least for the first half of the school year).

After going to Lost Maples last year, I'm bummed that we can't make it this year. Maybe next time.
Have fun with your lesson planning. That's the best part of homeschooling, in my opinion. LOL
