Busy Day

I went to town today with my sister and her boys. We just decided this morning that we'd go so it was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision. I had been wanting to go visit my grandmother but found out that she was going to be at a doctor's appointment for most of the afternoon, but we decided to go anyway. We both had been wanting to go to Sams anyway. Since I knew I was going to be late getting home I decided to put my spaghetti sauce in the crock pot and let it cook so that when I got home all I would need to do is boil my noodles and bake the garlic bread. Here is the recipe to the spaghetti sauce. It was very tasty, too bad not many in my family likes spaghetti so we had lots left over.... I might freeze it and have it again on another busy day.

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

1 med. onion
1 1/2 to 2 lbs ground beef
3 tsp minced garlic
1 - 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
2 - 6 oz cans tomato paste
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp butter
3 tbsp olive oil
water (to the consistency you like; I like mine thick so I do not add much water)

Brown ground beef and onion together until done. Add all remaining ingredients and put in crockpot on high for 3 hours. Remove bay leaves and serve over hot noodles.
